Our Emergency Paediatric First Aid course provides highly practical, hands-on training; designed to teach life-saving skills that are not only vital in the workplace, but in everyday life. This comprehensive course fully covers the Department of Health Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework for Emergency Paediatric First Aid.

Assessed by continual assessment of practical skills, and with no written tests, our first aid courses are fun and interactive. Using hands-on scenario based learning, you probably won't even realise you are being assessed.

UNIT 1 - EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

Roles and responsibilities

Accident recording & reporting

Scene safety, incident management & first aid kits

Primary survey.

Managing the unresponsive baby/child (inc. safe airway management)

CPR & safe use of an AED (baby/child & adult)

Choking

Seizures

Shock recognition & treatment

Management of wounds & bleeding

Severe/catastrophic bleeding (inc. use of torniquets)

Minor injuries (wounds, bleeding, burns, eye & dental Injuries, bites & stings, splinters, foreign bodies)

UNIT 2 - PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID FOR ILLNESS & INJURY:

Department for Education - Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework

Schools, groups and childminders must ensure their chosen First Aid provider meets the EYFS standards by conducting due diligence. To make this process simple we have already done the hard work for you.

All our first aid course specifications contain a completed HSE “checklist for evaluating the competence of first-aid training organisations”. This is recommended by the Department for Education and clearly demonstrates how APEXi meet all the legal requirements as a First Aid training provider.
