Outdoor emergencies present the rescuer with unique challenges. Environmental conditions, high risk activities, managing a casualty for prolonged periods, and having limited equipment add to the list of problems.
Our Outdoor First Aid courses are designed with these challenges in mind, only using or adapting what you would realistically have available to treat the casualty.
APEXi Outdoor First Aid courses are taught and assessed through practical hands-on teaching and realistic outdoor scenarios, prepare you for dealing with casualties in challenging circumstances.
Our instructors, through many years of working in, and teaching emergency care, have developed courses that enable you to deal with critical situations in the worst conditions.

APEXi courses are always delivered by Healthcare Professionals with years of clinical experience responding to and dealing with emergency situations in the same environment as you. When you combine with this with years of working in the outdoors, there is a wealth of experience to draw on.
All our instructors also have a wealth of teaching experience, regularly teaching anything from Advanced Life Support through to Community First Responders and First Aid.

Our courses are specifically designed so that Day 1 of our courses covers the syllabus for our 8-Hour courses, and Day 2 provides the additional syllabus required for our 16-Hour Outdoor qualifications.

* High-risk activities usually involve wearing a helmet. For this reason, we include helmet removal as standard on all our courses.

We recognise that some NGB qualifications only require an 8-hour Outdoor First Aid qualification. However, the chances are that you do more outdoors, or might be in a situation where being able to deal with an emergency might save someone’s life. For this reason, we always recommend a 16-hour (2-day) course.
All our Outdoor First Aid courses are created in a way so that if you only need an 8-hour course you just complete Day 1 of our 2-day course.
Remember, if you’ve enjoyed Day 1 and want to stay and learn more, no problem! You can book Day 2 while you are with us and attend the following day…the cost is exactly the same.
NGB REQUIREMENTS
All APEXi outdoor first aid courses are approved by the Institute of Outdoor Learning. These ensures that they will revalidate some National Governing Body qualifications.
Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
Businesses and individuals must ensure their chosen First Aid provider meets HSE standards by conducting due diligence. To make this process simple we have already done the hard work for you.
All our first aid course specifications contain a completed HSE “checklist for evaluating the competence of first-aid training organisations”. This clearly demonstrates how APEXi meet all the legal requirements as a First Aid training provider.
